How to install?

When mounting and gluing onto a balloon on an inflatable boat

Mounting the PVC pad (base) is quick and easy. Trace with a technical pencil or other marker the boundaries where you want the base to be glued. Clean the balloon area as well as the pad itself. Place and fix the base for the inflatable PVC board on the place you have chosen to be glued. For greater work hygiene, you can tape off the outer boundaries of where you will be gluing with paper tape. This ensures that your boat will be clean, with no glue residue left after the installation of the PVC board itself. Place and fix the PVC inflatable board base over the area you have chosen to be glued. Once it has been glued and mounted on your boat, you place the mounting profile of the sonar mount itself in the already designated place, (the so-called lock), and then you can quickly and easily fasten and lock it. The mount can be removed from the lock at any time and moved to another base from the FASTen series. Adhesive is not included.

IMPORTANT: For cleaning, use only a damp rag dampened with water. The goal is to remove dust and dirt to have a perfect “solder”. If other foreign matter is present, such as remnants of previous glue, etc., use acetate or technical grade acetone. Never use petroleum based solvents! Once you have done all of this, carefully spread a layer of glue over the entire pad as well as a layer of glue over the area you have chosen. Use only a special PVC adhesive or a two-part polyurethane adhesive. 1 hour after gluing, you can install the pad and the lock itself, to which each FASTen accessory mounts and locks. 24 hours after gluing the mounting platform, you can use your new FASTen accessory fully, under load and without worry.

IMPORTANT: It is advisable to periodically lubricate and grease the moving parts and parts that rub against each other, part of the mounting base, with silicone grease, as this protects them, and this prophylaxis extends the service life of the accessory itself, prevents the formation of a “water film” and guarantees reliable and secure operation, even at low temperatures. To prolong product life, rinse thoroughly with fresh water after use in seawater.
